The Town of Shelby is currently accepting applications to serve on the Shelby Planning Commission. All commissioners shall be residents of Shelby. The Commission consists of six (6) members who are appointed by the Shelby Town Board as well as one (1) appointed Board Member. Commissioners are appointed for three (3) year terms. Appointees would be starting mid-term, so the dates for the appointments would be as follows:
Commissioner #1: Appointed Until 4/30/2027
Commissioner #2: Appointed Until 4/30/2028
The Planning Commission is advisory to the Town Board and is supported by Town Staff. The Commission reviews New Building Developments, Variances, Conditional Use Permits, Certified Survey Maps, etc. and makes recommendations to the Town Board to approve, deny or require more information.
Planning Commission meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday as needed at 4:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room, 2800 Ward Avenue.
