Pet Licensing

Per Town of Shelby Ordinance 2.09, all dogs and cats that reside in the Town of Shelby must be licensed yearly by April 1st. Town Ordinance allows up to two (2) dogs per residence (up to four (4) with special permission from the Town Board). Town Ordinance does not limit the number of cats per residence. Licenses are for the calendar year and expire on December 31st.

To license by mail, send a copy of your pet’s current rabies certificate and any other applicable documentation, along with your check payable to Town of Shelby Treasurer to Town of Shelby, 2800 Ward Ave, La Crosse, WI 54601.
